DANIELLE DOWNS – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Rookie year – 2024
Hometown – Albany, GA
Favorite MLB Team – Atlanta Braves
Danielle joins the team with a tie to our mission and an almost 20-year nonprofit career. On June 3, 2024 Danielle celebrated her sister Tiffany’s 36th birthday. However Tiffany passed away when she was 16 from Prader-Willi syndrome. Danielle’s family is from a small town in Georgia (3 hours south of Conyers, where The Miracle League began) and were not afforded many opportunities for Tiffany as a special needs child. She did get to participate in Special Olympics on the bowling team which was an incredible opportunity for her to compete with a team of people who were just as amazing as she was. Danielle saw first-hand the selflessness and love her parents had for Tiffany. They were the perfect parents chosen to raise the incredible young lady she grew into during her 16 years.
Danielle’s connection to the mission enhances her drive of providing opportunities to children and adults with special needs as well as integrating the whole family in our incredible programs. With her almost 20-year career in nonprofit, mostly centered around development, she is passionate about growing our revenue to expand our mission’s reach.
Danielle is Mom (or sometimes ‘Bro’) to a witty, chivalrous, kind and tall 15 year old son, Shaw. They enjoy sports, concerts, travel and volunteering. They have lived in Arizona from Georgia since Shaw was 9 months old.
